The rather simple but organized auto service shop above is a "find" for any Prius or hybrid drivers that want to know where they can gain enormous advantages from a hybrid specialist that are otherwise very hard to find –even from dealerships.
Tim Jacob not only knows how to keep these cars running well, he knows how to keep them running at peak performance.
Answer – Because They Want to Gain Long-Lasting Advantages From a Trusted Prius Expert Who Knows How to Add Years of Life to Hybrids.

3 Mostly Unknown But Important Prius Tips to Save Significant Trouble and Money
(There are more. Ask when you visit.)
1) Toyota Prius manuals state that one can use regular gas, and while you can, here's how to make the engine last much longer –
Because of the nature of how the pistons operate in a Prius combined with the fact that the engine is turning off and on so often, carbon will build-up and accumulate. This causes unnecessary wear over time.
Here are the 2 specific things that solve that ongoing problem. . .
Once your car is beyond 150,000 miles or so, there is one "weak link" in the whole system that can easily ruin the engineand often does. Knowing this can add years of life to your car and save a ton of money.
Fortunately, it's a pretty simple matter to have fixed.
Here's the situation –The water pump has a rubber diaphragm in that becomes at risk for going out once the car surpasses that many miles. What generally happens is that pump itself continues to run, which means the engine will still sense it as "running" but with a broken diaphragm, water will not be circulating.
There is one thing that most often shortens the life of these otherwise very long-lasting cars.
To quote Tim, "I want these cars to last forever, and I know how to draw a lot of extra life out of them."
First, if you have been using regular gas as most Prius owners do, get some Rislone Fuel, Exhaust & Emissions System Cleaner to add to your gas when you have 3/4th of a tank or more and run that mix until you're ready to fill up again. This will burn out the excess carbon.
This is not a commercial for that product. It's simply a very important tip that works. Using this twice a year will burn off any residue of carbon which will keep your pistons much cleaner.
Secondly, from that point forward, if you use higher octane (at least 91) fuel, your engine will last considerably longer and with almost no carbon buildup and the wear that comes with it.
3) For Generation 2 Prius (Years 2004 through 2009)
2) For Generation 3 Prius (Years 2010 through 2015)
Surprisingly, it's waterproofing, but this is more serious than what that may sound like. This problem was improved with generation 3 Prius which can develop the same danger, but is less prone to do so.
With Generation 2 Prius models, over time the seals degrade and begin to leak water. This means that while driving, it allows rain water to run toward and into the back of the car where the large battery is located. This most often goes unnoticed until it's too late because water enters in areas that are mostly hidden from view.

In short, the expensive engine damage is all caused from a small but very important part in the water pump – all of which can be replaced before the engine is at risk.
The fix is taken care of by having a new water pump installed before the situation becomes increasingly risky.

This most commonly results in a blown head gasket, along with a good chance of warped cylinder head and a sometimes a seized-up engine. That repair can easily be $8,000 or more.
Important - Off-brand water pumps are NOT recommended. They can be inconsistent and often don't last as long as the Toyota brand. Instead, get a Toyota-made pump as the life on these generally last longer and are more dependable.
Water contact on the main battery causes corrosion and is a primary cause of battery destruction and shorter car life.
Without knowing about this – or more importantly, knowing what to do about it, is a game-changer.
There is a very specific process to correct this problem. Tim has done this procedure many times for generation 2 Prius models that would otherwise not still be on the road.
The aim is to have it inspected or done before it damages the battery or shortens it's life.

Seals are taped off and redone as part of waterproofing process.
Tarp is placed for protection while special waterproofing foam seal is put in place.
